Badgers Win But Need Fixes | Wisconsin Badgers Football News

Wisconsin’s home opener win over Western Illinois came with flashes of brilliance and glaring flaws. Abu Sama dazzled with big-play potential, while Carson Van Dinter stunned on special teams with a punt-block touchdown. Sebastian Cheeks and Thomas Heiberger delivered standout defensive performances, showing real growth. But Colton Joseph’s shaky accuracy and lack of mobility held the offense back, and Eric Fletcher’s coverage struggles exposed critical lapses. Despite the rough edges, the Badgers secured the win—and now focus shifts to fixing those issues before tougher matchups come calling.
