‘임을 위한 행진곡’ 가사의 원작자인 백기완 통일문제연구소장이 “임을 위한 행진곡도 못 부르게 하는 대통령은 대통령이 아니다”라고 격노했다. 백 소장은 18일 오전 서울광장에서 열린 5.18민주화운동 제36주년기념 서울 행사에 참석한 뒤 기자와 만나 “임을 위한 행진곡은 이 땅의 민주화를 위해서 싸운 사람들의 넋을 기리는 노래”라며 이같이 말했다. ‘임을 위한 행진곡’의 가사는 백기완 소장의 옥중시 ´묏비나리´의 일부분이다.
