Bahamas Plane Crash Claims Four Relatives | Miami News

A family vacation turned into a nightmare when a private plane carrying Mario Lamar Senior, his wife Lili, and their grandchildren Sofia and Christian Sosa crashed en route from the Bahamas to Miami. With Mario, a seasoned pilot with 40+ years of experience, at the controls, the Piper aircraft veered off course amid weather concerns, ultimately disappearing over Andros Island. The community is reeling — both schools the teens attended have mourned their loss, while relatives bravely recovered bodies from the sea before coordinating with the Coast Guard for repatriation. This tragedy underscores the fragility of life and the enduring strength of a grieving family supported by their community.
