Bahamian Actress Lands Perry Role
from Bahamas News Today | 2 Min News | The Daily News Now!
Kristin McIntosh, a 35-year-old Bahamian actress from Abaco, just landed a recurring role as a news reporter on Tyler Perry’s hit drama The Oval—contracted through seasons six and seven. She got the part the same day she auditioned, blissfully unaware it was a Perry project, and was thrilled when she learned it wasn’t a one-off. Her character draws from Bahamian journalists she admired as a kid, especially old ZNS broadcasts. Acting began early for her—she starred in a commercial for her mom’s store at 14—and though she studied fashion design in college, she switched paths after realizing her heart belonged to storytelling. An internship at an Atlanta agency cemented her love for acting, and after years of rejections, she broke through with a Screen Actors Guild commercial in 2017. Since then, she’s appeared on Snapped and voiced characters in video games. Now, she’s using her platform to inspire other Bahamian creatives to chase their dreams—and to show off their talent on social media.
