from Travel Writers Radio
Our reporter, Alistair Smith went to Away Bali Legian Camakila Hotel to investigate a pilot program that’s not only making hotels in Bali more accessible, but also ensures that the message gets out in a meaningful way. It’s a business development programme aimed at enticing more people with mobility issues to Bali because they are better informed. The hotel went through an audit with a specialist consultant, made physical changes throughout, for example, installing ramps, handrails and refurbishing rooms so they were more accessible. Alistair reports that it is a $300 million opportunity catering to those visitors to Bali with a disability. Photo: Alistair Smith
