Baltimore's Next Chapter

from Black Politics Today · host Black Politics Today

On October 17, 2019, former Congressman Elijah Cummings, celebrated 68yrs of life as he quietly transitioned on to glory sending shockwaves and chaos across congress and the City of Baltimore. Now with nearly 30 candidates seeking to replace the native from Baltimore, a number of GOP candidates have thrown their names into the hat in hopes of taking a deep blue district and adding a little red to it.  Although, its an uphill climb, the republican party believes it can shift the trajectory of what has been a longstanding Democratic stronghold. The question becomes, can a republican change the direction of Baltimore's 7th, if they are a woman, and specifically, a black woman? Tonight we'll ask republican strategist and candidate for congress, Kim Klacik if she's ready to serve a blue district with a red cloth? Also joining us is Political Science professor, and host of "Inside the Issues with Wilmer Leon," Dr. Wilmer Leon, III.  Don't miss it!
