B&S Music - Rush - Brian Halm And Mitch Teich

This week, Brian Halm and Mitch Teich join us to talk about the legendary Canadian band, Rush, and their landmark album, Moving Pictures. We start out asking Brian about why he chose the album and his experience catching the band on their recent reunion tour in Los Angeles. We chat about the band's high school origins, Neil Peart's entry as their legendary drummer and lyricist, and the heavily male-dominated demographic of their fanbase. Along the way, we break down the tracks of Moving Pictures, discussing the studio mixing struggles behind "Tom Sawyer", the embedded Morse code, the` wild car accident story connected to "YYZ", and Neil Peart's intensely introverted nature on "Limelight". We also explore the "triple entendre" of the album cover, the addition of German drummer Anika Nilles to the tour, and why Chris still struggles to get past Geddy Lee's polarizing singing voice. All that and much, much more! Enjoy!
