Welcome to Episode 96!  Mark & Casey are back with an all new episode and boy, oh boys, have they got some stuff to say this week!

In this week's Trash Pick Up, Mark is recounting some of the highlights from a birthday party hosted for a family member which involved some cards, booze, and cake and spoiler alert -- the cake flavors were everything! Then Casey is discussing a recent, difficult loss in his life and how he is processing during this difficult time.

Next up in the week's Mid-Section, Casey & Mark are discussing censorship and more specifically the recent onslaught of banned books hitting bookshelves across the country.  Books have been banned in this country since the mid 1300s and the polarization is stronger now than ever when it comes to content in books. What constitutes reason to ban books? Does anyone win? What are some of the most famous titles on the list of banned books throughout time? What are some of the LGBTQIA+ books recently banned in states like Texas, Alabama, and yes, even California! Mark & Casey are diving deep and serving up the piping hot tea on the subject of book banning.

Then it's on to this week's Trash Talk!  In this week's stable of topics, Gazpacho Police is kicking things off for you with the latest gaffe from the dumpster fire that is Marjorie Taylor Greene. Then, the mayor of an Ohio town made headlines this week for comments made suggesting prostitution is a major concern when a popular winter hobby starts happening. Next Casey is sharing his thoughts on yet another doping scandal at the Olympics. Unlike the Summer Olympics, however, where a black woman was disqualified for marijuana in her system, this time the white athletes case resulted different enforcement of the rule. Finally closing out this week, some classified documents have not been handled correctly. How so? you might be asking -- take a listen to find out why!

Lastly, in this week's recommedations, Casey is recommending a limited docuseries now streaming on Netflix featuring a sad con game leaving victims penniless. Afterward, Mark is recommending the first part of the final season of a Netflix crime drama starring one of the most talked about casts in the biz!  Closing out the episode Mark & Casey are discussing some of the highlights and snubs from this year's Oscar nominations. As you may have guessed, The Boys have some thoughts!

This week's episode is full of topical tea for you and your a strong dose of laughter and education.  This one's got all the pop-culture news you'll be needing along with the commentary stylings you've come to know and expect from Mark & Casey. So settle in with your easel, brushes, palette, and of course, your favorite port vintage. It's time for an all-new Painted Trash: An LGBTQIA+ Podcast of Hilarious Discourse.
