Baptism (Benj Lyon)
from Living Rock Podcast Hosted by Living Rock Church
In this message, Benj explores baptism as far more than just a public declaration of faith—it's a powerful spiritual reality where we are washed clean from our past, buried with Christ, and raised to new life (Romans 6:1-11). Drawing on the symbolism of the Exodus crossing through the Red Sea, where the Israelites walked through death and left their enslavement buried behind them, Benj shows that when we're baptised, everything that used to have a claim on us—our old habits, our chains, our identity as slaves to sin—cannot follow us out of the water; we emerge totally free and totally washed clean. As you listen, whether you've been baptised or are considering this step, be encouraged that God is well pleased with you, and baptism marks a permanent cut-off from your old life and the beginning of your freedom and new identity as His beloved child.
