A vibrant, joyful life came to a close as 91-year-old Barbara Clark Ash of Oak Island passed away on August 31st. Born in Washington D.C. in 1935, she lived with purpose—loving the outdoors, hosting loved ones, and radiating warmth through family and friendship. Survived by her daughter Cathy, husband Bernie, three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and sisters Patsy and Mary Jack, she leaves behind a legacy of kindness. Remembered fondly for her hardworking spirit and infectious positivity, she was preceded in death by her husband Stanley, son William Howard Rutledge, and parents William and Josephine Clark.
