Barlow Returns to Royals Bullpen | Kansas City Royals News

The Royals are reuniting with Scott Barlow, the reliable righty who once anchored their bullpen with a 2.18 ERA and 24 saves in 2022. After stints with the Padres, Guardians, Reds, and Athletics — where his recent run ended in release — Barlow returns to Triple-A Omaha on a minor league deal, hoping to revive his career. With key bullpen arms injured, his familiarity with the Royals’ system and proven track record (61 saves, 3.79 ERA in nearly 500 MLB games) make him a smart, low-risk gamble for a potential late-season comeback.
