Barnabas - Lesson 5

This lesson traces the first missionary journey of Barnabas and Paul, highlighting their ministry in Iconium, Lystra, and Derbe. The preacher emphasizes the recurring pattern of revival among believers and violent opposition from unbelievers, illustrating how the gospel divides communities. A key focus is the recognition of Barnabas as a primary leader, evidenced by his being called Jupiter in Lystra, which underscores his significant role alongside Paul. The narrative concludes with their return to Antioch to report God's works and establish elders, followed by the Jerusalem Council's defense of salvation by grace alone. The sermon encourages believers to contend earnestly for the faith and share the gospel boldly despite potential conflict.
