In which a tumultuous crowd besieges a grim prison, demanding the release of their comrades, and a resolute locksmith stands firm against their violence despite peril to his very life. As the flames of an incendiary bonfire roar and flicker against the stony walls, despairing cries from within echo dreadfully, whilst the mob’s fierce efforts at forced entry bring the edifice at last to yield.
