His humble nature precludes him from admitting to the preceding, but he has spent a lifetime perfecting his dream job and has become a major part of this storied franchise, becoming a friend and mentor to many of the players and personnel. He has written an incredible book, Mr. Met: How a Sports-Mad Kid from Jersey Became Like Family to Generations of Big Leaguers.
