He has dedicated himself to the restoration of Hinchliffe Stadium where numerous historical events, many baseball related, have occurred. This 10,000 seat stadium has been designated a National Historic Landmark and has hosted many Negro League baseball games. Monte Irvin, Josh Gibson, Oscar Charleston, and Cool Papa Bell all played there as well as Larry Doby, who broke the American League color barrier in 1947. The stadium is rich, not only with baseball history, but many other wonderful events and Brian is a terrific docent as he gives us a tour back in time.
