Baseball Talk | Getting to Know High School Baseball in Southwest Missouri | YBMcast

We have the Head Coach of the Willard Tigers baseball program in his 19th season with 2 State Championships, 3 third place, and 1 fourth place finish, along with 9 District Championships. Coach McGee has built a powerhouse program in the southwest and we are happy to have him join the show to bring his knowledge about that part of the state and the baseball being played year in and year out. We are going to be taking a look at some of the conferences and teams you may have not heard of before, but nonetheless are some of the best programs in the state across all six classifications of MSHSAA. These include the 2025 Class 2 State Champions Miller Cardinals from the Southwest Conference. The Mid-Lakes Conference Class 3 Fair Grove Eagles finished second in State losing to the Fatima Comets 2-0. Class 4 Logan-Rogersville Wildcats in the tough Ozark Mountain Conference finished second in the state losing in the championship game to Chillicothe by two runs and could be the best Class four team in the state in 2026. Class 5 Marshfield Bluejays out of, you guessed it, the Ozark Mountain Conference finished 4th in the state. As you can see there are a lot of good baseball in the Southwest, and I believe we will see this trend continue.
