Selam millet! İki haftalık aradan sonra, uzun süredir takip edenlerin tanıdığı sevgili dostum Ezgi Bilgili'yi yeniden ağırladım. Ezgi, yurt arkadaşı olduğumuz günlerden bu yana masterını tamamladı, evlendi ve İngilizce bir işten "Almanca" gerektiren bir departmana geçti gibi hayatındaki önemli güncellemeleri paylaştı. Bölümün ana odağı, Almanya'daki göçmenler için dil yeterliliğinin önemindeki çarpıcı değişim oldu. Geçmişte, biz de dahil olmak üzere, Almancanın öneminin altını çok fazla çizmiyorduk ve "hobi olarak öğrenin" diyorduk; ancak son üç-dört yılda ekonomik krizler, pazarın daralması ve toplumsal milliyetçileşme gibi faktörler nedeniyle bu tavsiyelerimiz çok hızlı değişti. Artık bariz bir şekilde işin İngilizce olduğu işlerde bile Almanca isteniyor ve tamamen bambaşka bir realiteden konuşuyoruz. Benim de artık dil bilmemenin hayattan alınan verimi bayağı düşürdüğünü ve beni "uzaylı gibi" hissettirdiğini fark etmemle birlikte, kendime bir B1 sınavı aldığımı ve bir tarih belirlemenin motivasyonu artırdığını paylaştım. Ayrıca, Almancanın zorluklarını (özellikle B1 çukuru ve artikel belası), pasif agresif Alman kültürünü ve siyasetteki göçmenlik tartışmalarının (özellikle AfD'nin yükselişi ve merkez sağın fikirlerini benimsemesi) sosyal atmosfer üzerindeki etkilerini de Ezgi ile tartıştık.
