Send a text Movie: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) Hosts: Jon & Donald Runtime: 1h 7m Rating: 5/10 (High Five) 🎧 Summary In this episode of Almost Classic Movies, Jon and Donald suit up for a deep (and occasionally derailed) dive into Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. From Ben Affleck’s surprisingly solid Bruce Wayne to Jesse Eisenberg’s twitchy Lex Luthor, the guys debate what worked, what didn’t, and what could’ve made this overstuffed superhero showdown truly soar. They revisit the movie’s cultural hype, the Martha moment, and why this film felt more like a Justice League teaser than the gritty character study it could’ve been. With comparisons to animated adaptations, wish.com Doomsday, and plenty of popcorn-movie praise, this is one Almost Classic you won’t want to miss. Plus: 🦇 Why Affleck might be the most balanced Batman yet 🧠 What makes Wonder Woman’s theme a running gag 🍑 The surprisingly unsettling peach tea scene 💔 The odd pacing, unnecessary fluff, and wasted potential 🎥 Alternate endings, missed opportunities, and director debates 📉 Final verdict: A fun rewatch, but still frustrating Support the show You can support the show by becoming a member on Patreon.
