Baton Rouge Alliance for Students Marks 5 Years of Impact and Education Progress

The Baton Rouge Alliance for Students is celebrating five years of impact since launching in 2021. The group has built a network of over 200 community advocates and invested more than $500,000 in local organizations supporting students and families. During that time, Baton Rouge has seen major progress, with 12,000 fewer students in D and F-rated schools, the lowest level in over a decade. The Alliance has also trained and elected local leaders through its Torch Academy and continues to push for student-focused policies. Looking ahead, the focus remains on teacher retention, resource allocation, and continued improvement in student outcomes.
