Battery Best Practices | EP 62

from Area 13 Ebikes - The Podcast · host Kyle Chittock

Hey Everybody! Welcome back to another episode of the Bolton Ebikes Podcast. I get a lot of questions as you can imagine about batteries. How much should you charge them? Should you discharge them all away? Do they need to be kept at a certain temperature? How long will they last? You know, as far as years, how many miles will they go? So in this episode, I want to break down some of the basics of lithium battery maintenance. So you can get the most life you possibly can out of your battery on your electric bike. In today’s episode you’ll learn more about:  Is it okay to run your battery down to zero? How to extend battery life. Is it okay to store your battery in the garage when you’re not using it? What is the difference between the lithium batteries and lead acid batteries.  What is the BMS and what does it have to do with battery best practices. How many cycles do ebike batteries typically last? And so much more!  When it comes to batteries, it's only going to get better from here.
