Working in healthcare can be a very rewarding career, but it also presents some unique challenges. Nowadays, productivity levels have increased exponentially, caseloads have become unruly, expectations have continued to grow without any sign of slowing down, while we as therapists are left to pick up the pieces, keep up with the changes, and do the best work that we can. Unfortunately, the increasing demands within the workplace have had significant implications on us as therapists, ultimately leading many therapists to become burnt out. Erika del Pozo MOT, OTR/L from Joy Energy Time and the Burnt Out to Lit Up podcast comes on the show today to share her personal journey with burnout and how this has ignited a passion for promoting education and awareness about the topic as it relates to healthcare professionals.

K. Chesterton (1874 - 1936) LibriVox LibriVox volunteers bring you 9 recordings of The Song Against Songs by G. K. Chesterton. This was the Fortnightly Poetry project for October 16, 2011.Chesterton was a large man, standing 6 feet 4 inches (1.93 m) and weighing around 21 stone (130 kg; 290 lb). His girth gave rise to a famous anecdote. During World War I a lady in London asked why he was not 'out at the Front'; he replied, 'If you go round to the side, you will see that I am.' On another occasion he remarked to his friend George Bernard Shaw: "To look at you, anyone would think a famine had struck England". Shaw retorted, "To look at you, anyone would think you have caused it". P. G. Wodehouse once described a very loud crash as "a sound like Chesterton falling onto a sheet of tin."( Summary from Wikipedia ) IT IS WHAT IT IS with SHALLZ - SHALLY ZOMORODI Shally Zomorodi What?  "It is what it is" with ShallZ – Shally ZomorodiWhen? WeeklyHow long? 35 minutesEvery week, Mother of 4, wife, morning TV news anchor and ultimate hostess, Shally Zomorodi talks about life - its up's and downs and how to stay on track in her weekly podcast, ‘It is what it is.’  Known for her high energy, infectious smile and ability to see the cup as half full Shally talks about all things in life and how to work through its challenges.
