Bava Kama 73 and 74 – The Reciprocity of Respect

Today’s Talmud pages, Bava Kama 73 and 74 discuss the time limit between saying two phrases that either makes them a single comment, or two separate comments, and indicates that the pause must be the shorter than the length of time that it takes for a student to greet their teacher in order for it to be considered a single statement. Education expert and educator at the Shefa School in Manhattan Vicki Messler joins us to discuss the important relationship between a teacher and a student, and the ways that it has changed as the idea of the expert teacher has eroded and students and parents alike have become more vocal in expressing their opinions on teachers and their methods.
