And in performances too numerous to count for Filipino audiences in our beloved Philippines. Since our auspicious debut at the Brussels Universal Exposition in 1958 in Belgium and even greater triumph on Broadway's Winter Garden Theater, New York, we have become the Philippines' - and the Filipinos' - cultural ambassadors to the World and earned the distinction of being the Philippine National Folk Dance Company by an act of congress, republic Act 8626.
