Türkiye medyasında uzunca süredir tartışma konusu olan ve Cumhurbaşkanlığının keyfi uygulamalarına dönüşen basın kartı meselesinde Evrensel gazetesi çalışanları ve Türkiye Gazeteciler Sendikası Başkanı Gökhan Durmuş'la birlikte çok sayıda gazeteciye yönelik yaptırım niteliğinde karar alındı.Cumhurbaşkanlığı İletişim Başkanlığı'na bağlı Basın Komisyonu, gazetecilerin basın kartlarını iptal etti.Ahval Genel Yayın Yönetmeni Yavuz Baydar, AhvalPod Nar'da karar ilişkin değerlendirmeler yaptı.Basın kartlarını dünyada meslek örgütlerinin verdiğini ve bunun Türkiye'de de devlet kontrolünde olmaması adına yıllardır mücadele verdiğini hatırlatan Baydar, ''Son basın kartı iptalleri, topyekûn bir 'meslek yasağı'nın önemli bir adımı'' diyor. Baydar, basın kartı iptallerinin benzer yönde devam edeceğinin altını çiziyor ve ekliyor:''Burada artık çok ciddi bir meslek onuru ve icraatını koruma adına sivil direniş ve karşı hamle noktasındayız. Bir mesleki sivil itaatsizlik anlamına gelecek şekilde, bir an önce basın kartı bundan sonra yok hükmündedir denmesi gerekiyor.''
