BB1. Genesis 1-2 and Why We Study the Old Testament

NEW SERIES ALERT - “Book by Book - Lessons from the OT” In this new series we dedicated each sermon to one entire book of the OT (with the exception of today’s two part lesson on Genesis). Our goals are to recognize how the truths contained in each OT book can encourage our faith, give us hope, and point to Jesus as Lord. In Today’s lesson… 1. We look at 5 reasons why studying the OT is important. 2. Give the historical context of Genesis 3. Summarize Genesis 1-2 4. Answer important questions from the text -How old is the earth? Why did God create? Where do we come from? What is our purpose in life? And why is marriage the pinnacle of human relationships?
