About him, Jesus said, “Truly, I say to you, among those born of women there has arisen no one greater than John the Baptist" (Matthew 11:11) John personally baptized Jesus. Jesus studied under John. Further, John lived at a time when people were hungry for change. They were desperate for someone who could confront the political, military, and religious powers of the day and make things right. John had an audience that would have been eager to follow him wherever he would have led. The people wanted a messiah. John knew that was not his calling or purpose. He resisted their efforts to make him who they wanted him to be. He knew who he was, and never tried to be anything more or anything less - just his full best self. He was comfortable with who he was. We need to become comfortable with ourselves. I’m Horace McMillon. This is 60 Seconds of Hope. Peace be with you.#60secondsofhope Support the show
