Be Honest With Yourself

Morning Mantra: "Tell people what you need.  You'll either get it or realize they can't give it to you.  Both are gifts."   This was one of the hardest things I had to learn.  People can't read my mind.  I used to think, "If they KNOW me, then they'll know what I want/need."Don't ever assume others know what you want or need emotionally. It's hard, but necessary to communicate this openly and honestly.   They can only offer what they understand to be a need.On the other hand, never try and un-need what you need.  If it's important to you then stick to it, don't try to change so they can meet your needs easier.  People will either be right for you or they won't.  But trying to change so they fit, will only diminish you.  This is where resentment grows.Speak your truth. Your needs. Your dreams. Your desires.  It is both a gift to receive the support you require, or to see that they cannot be the one.  Either they are your person or they aren't.  But at least there is no more wasted time.
