Be Loyal to Yourself First

In this episode, I want to share some thoughts on loyalty. One of my mentors called me out on this, and it was so necessary. This entrepreneurship journey is rocky, messy, lonely and beautiful at the same time. As humans, many of us are so loyal to others. We have great intentions, we mean well, and we want to help others, yet we are not showing that loyalty to ourselves first. In this episode, we discuss: 1) Every emotion you are exhibiting externally in your life is an emotion that you experience first internally. Like every single relationship in your life is an extension of your relationship with yourself, where can you give to yourself first and then provide the overflow to others?2) Using this model, even if you are not in the entrepreneurship model, this is still relatable to you. Where can you show more loyalty to yourself first? Where can you pour into yourself first before giving and pouring into others? 3) "What got you here won't get you there." This is such a moment of realization that I am seeing, and thank God I surround myself with mentors who aren't afraid to call me on my shit.
