Gospel Daily with Josh Weidmann Be Opened: When Jesus Heals the Silent Places of the Soul, Part 2Series: Encountering Jesus Scripture: Mark 7:31-37 Episode: 1437 Scripture Summary: In Mark 7:31–37, Jesus travels through the region of Decapolis, where people bring Him a man who is deaf and has a speech impediment, begging Jesus to heal him. Taking the man aside privately, Jesus puts His fingers in the man's ears, touches his tongue, looks to heaven, and says, "Ephphatha" (Be opened). Immediately, the man's hearing and speech are miraculously restored. Though Jesus tells the people not to spread the news, they proclaim it zealously, overwhelmed with amazement: "He has done everything well. He even makes the deaf hear and the mute speak!"
