A celebration of risk-taking and the power of persistence, MY HEART SAYS GO follows first generation college student, Indigo, who defies his father and drops out of medical school to become a singer-songwriter. Indigo is accompanied on his journey by a new friend, Clara, who has her own struggles at home. By the end, Indigo and his father find a new respect and understanding for each other, while Clara experiences a loss that allows her to see the importance of family and human connection. MY HEART SAYS GO is a celebratory anthem for the next generation and a loving reminder for parents. In 2021, they graduated from the University of Michigan with a BFA in Musical Theatre and a minor in English Literature, and have since put both degree specialities to use by becoming a full-time actor in NYC as well as writing you this run-on sentence; jk, they also work part-time as a bookseller. Erica does frequent work with the non-profit organization Fandom Forward, and recently joined the creative board of Mixed Asian Media. Once a week, she loves to yell about coming of age love stories and mythology with her genius co-host/best friend on their podcast Seaweed Brain.
