Beaches (1988) — with Cate!
from The Untitled GenX Podcast Hosted by Lori Garcia with Cate
WELCOME TO SEASON 3, GEN-XERS! Lori's ecstatic to welcome back Cate, her childhood best friend and Season 1 co-host to laugh a little and cry a little at the story and glory of love and friendship in 1988’s tearjerker, Beaches. The gals reminisce about their childhoods with Cate as the CC Bloom to Lori's Hillary Whitney. They get real about the horrors of being on the receiving end of a singing telegram, cutting bangs in the aftermath of grief, Phillip DeBrassiere vs. Purple Pieman, Band-Aid babies, processing loss as a kid, and moving out of your childhood home ... but not before gushing all over Bette Midler, singing incorrect song lyrics, and putting the whole "beaches" thing together.
