you are shining a beacon offshore the lighthouse blazing against the undertow the vicious waves sharks teeth biting and gnawing at the calves of the weary a great golden Valkyrie standing sentinel salt stinging your eyes as your hands reach down palms upturned gently, so gently raising souls from the darkest depths of the underworld and they gnash their own teeth in awe and shock eyes open wide cold and drenched with fear Yet you do not falter beacon, you are Your mighty feet are like mountains moving through the waves splintering slate and driftwood reaching those scared to reach themselves. © Susan Marie
