Bear Feels Scared

I was reminded of a preschooler book in which a little bear was feeling scared when it was getting dark and he didn't know his way home. It transpired that actually he was in sight of his home but he was crouched down, scared and unaware of the proximity of his home. Similarly, I received an official letter yesterday from the UK's NHS which I didn't quite understand and thought they were taking away my free health care in the UK because I am living in Portugal. However I subsequently discovered that the letter was actually to guide me into having some medical coverage in both Portugal and the UK. It is encouraging to know that even the great prophet Elijah in the Old Testament became fearful when his life was threatened and he thought he was the only believer of God left in Israel but in fact there were another 7000 believers, so he had assumed incorrectly. The good news is that God understands our fears with our misconceptions and comforts us as He did with Elijah, with provisions, whilst he was in the wilderness (1 Kings 19).
