On today’s LIVE A to Z Sports Nashville morning show, Austin and Easton discuss how much weight Titans fans should place on “winning” joint practice—and what actually matters when evaluating Cam Ward, Caleb Williams and their respective teams. Carnell Tate was Tennessee’s offensive standout in Thursday’s session. Easton charted seven catches on 12 targets with two touchdowns, as Tate repeatedly connected with Ward after a relatively quiet stretch of training camp. His production included contested plays, scramble-drill connections and consistent involvement throughout the day. Ward’s performance was not perfect. He missed high on several early throws and threw an interception before settling in and delivering a stronger finish. Austin and Easton explain why those mistakes belong in the evaluation alongside the explosive completions. Tony Pollard produced a deep reception and a long run, Gunner Helm made an impressive one-handed sideline catch, and Chimere Dike caught a touchdown with the first-team offense after Wan’Dale Robinson left practice. Robinson was being evaluated for a concussion at the time of Thursday’s post-practice report following a hit from Bears safety Xavier Woods. Today’s discussion includes Robert Saleh’s comments about that hit, along with the Tony Adams hit from the joint session. On the other field, Caleb Williams and Chicago’s offense started strongly before Tennessee’s defense settled in. Austin observed increasing pressure, improved run defense and a Tony Adams end-zone interception during the Bears’ two-minute work. The Bears also dealt with defensive-back absences during practice, an important part of the context when assessing Tennessee’s offensive success.
