Bears Trade Dexter for Phillips | Atlanta Falcons News

The Chicago Bears make a savvy late-season trade, sending defensive tackle Gervon Dexter Sr. to Atlanta for cornerback Clark Phillips III and a fifth-round pick—boosting their secondary depth as they gear up for the opener against Carolina. Dexter, recovering from injury and entering his final year of contract, departs after a solid stint with six sacks last season. In return, the Bears add a promising young CB who showed flashes in Atlanta despite an early injury. With key roster moves happening just two weeks before kickoff, this trade underscores their focus on strengthening the defense ahead of the regular season.
