Beat Em Up Games
from This Is Rad!
This week Kyle and Matthew are joined by the delightful and hilarious Andy Iwacio for a chat about the beat em up genre of video games. This classic genre has some great weirdness to explore. From mohawks to the eating food out of trashcans for heath, the beat em up's influence is still felt today in games like God of War and Dark Souls. Plus, we discuss the fine art of the DJ drop. Lot of silliness in this one. Enjoy! Weekly Rads: Kyle – Manga! Manga! By Frederik L Schodt (book) Matthew – The Beach House (movie on Shudder) and Palm Springs (movie on Hulu) Andy – Sennheiser HD25 (headphones), Crawl (movie), and I'll Be Home In The Dark (series) check out Laura's new designs on TeePublic!!!
