19.11.17 Speaker: Andrew Cowell Duration: 51.21 Blessed are...The Peacemakers Key Verses: Matthew 5:9 According to Jesus the man who has tasted God's righteousness is to show mercy to others; he is to be pure in heart; and he is to be a peacemaker. # peace breaker - You attack, using put downs, gossip and fighting to get what you want # peace faker - You escape, trying to make things look good by denying, blame shifting and avoiding the issue. # peace maker - You work it out, aiming to resolve conflict by experiencing God's peace in your own heart and working towards spreading God's peace in the hearts of others. From the life and teaching of Jesus we uncover 4 steps that will help the child of God work for peace in any and every conflict: 1. Understanding the source of the conflict 2. Experiencing the peace of God in your Heart. 3. Following the example of the prince of Peace. 4. Working towards spreading the Peace of God. When it comes to peace making, “the heart of the matter, is that it is a matter of the heart.” You need to be experiencing the peace of God in your heart, and following Jesus' peacemaking example, before you can start working towards spreading the peace of God in the hearts of others.
