With the release of Off the Ground, Paul McCartney’s 9th studio album, a modest success by former Beatle standards still amounted to plenty of lift to take a new world tour off the ground! And so it was in the early spring months of 1993 that Paul McCartney’s New World Tour hit the road, starting off in Europe and select UK dates, to rave reviews once again. To help inaugurate the occasion, Paul become the third former Beatle to guest on the NBC comedy show Saturday Night Live, not only as musical guest but as performer in several memorable sketches!
