Beautiful FeetRomans • July 31, 2022Teacher: Adam Barnett--Romans 10:14-15 NIVHow, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”Eugene PetersonBut how can people call for help if they don’t know who to trust? And how can they know who to trust if they haven’t heard of the One who can be trusted? And how can they hear if nobody tells them? And how is anyone going to tell them, unless someone is sent to do it?Romans 9:30-31 NIVWhat then shall we say? That the Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have obtained it, a righteousness that is by faith; but the people of Israel, who pursued the law as the way of righteousness, have not attained their goal. 1. How can they call on the one they have not believed in?2. How can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard?3. How can they hear without someone preaching to them?4. How can anyone preach unless they are sent?We are sent as messengers -> people hear -> people believe -> people call upon the Lord.Do I care more about my present than my neighbor’s eternity?Romans 10:9-13 NIVIf you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,”and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.Romans 10:9 FGT (False Gospel Translation)If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, pray three hours per day, fast once per week, study your Bible daily, tithe 10%, serve the church, and live in perfect purity, you will be saved.Romans 10:11-13 NIVAs Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.” For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lordwill be saved.”We are sent as messengers -> people hear -> people believe -> people call upon the Lord.
