Men även här i Sverige har antalet barn per kvinna rasat de senaste åren. Lägre skatteintäkter och sämre välfärdOm det låga barnafödandet ligger kvar på nuvarande nivå kommer varje ny generation bli 30 procent mindre än den innan. Om nivån sjunker till utredningens värsta-scenario kan befolkningen minska med 4 miljoner fram till år 2100 och Sveriges BNP mer än halveras. ”Men förhoppningsvis hamnar vi inte där”, säger regeringens utredare nationalekonomen Åsa Hansson.Börsfall och boprisfallMen även ett mildare scenario kan få stora effekter. Förutom att välfärden påverkas kommer aktier och bostadspriser gå ner när efterfrågan sjunker. ”Det finns mycket som talar för att vi kan få ett prisfall”, säger Åsa Hansson.
