Got something to say to this podcast? Send a voicemail, and you might hear yourself on the next episode! Listening to Becca Caffyn is like putting on your favourite jumper, getting a hot cup of lemon honey and throwing on your comfort movie while the wind batters the house outside. You are enveloped by the warmth of gentle melodies and introspective writing. Becca blends introspective bedroom folk with indie sensibilities, and seemingly effortlessly weaves in stories of heartbreak, growing pains, confessional lyrics, and sometimes just plain old missing ya mum. She is nothing if not honest. Both in her confessional lyrics, akin to journal entries, and her accompanying persona, Becca Caffyn wears her heart on her sleeve. Having taken the stage all over NZ, and supporting acts like The Rions, Frankie Venter, Letters to Lions, and Mim Jensen, Becca Caffyn has moved to drearier shores and taken up life in London. After 2 EPS, The Replacement Blonde (2022) and Hallways (2024), Becca is gearing up for the release of her third EP - Isn’t it Romantic with the debut single Caroline being released in September. Today we're diving into Caroline, life in London, and the history behind Becca's touring band - Becca Caffyn and the Piss Horns. Thanks Becca for the interview! Be sure to stream her discography anywhere you get music. It's all great stuff.
