A JOURNEY TOWARD FREEDOM. 🏃🏾‍♀️🌱*The Great eXcape*, presented by The Exodus Group, is more than a 5K—it’s a celebration of courage, community, healing, and the freedom to build a life that belongs to you.The Exodus Group is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals transitioning out of high-control religions and organizations. Leaving can mean much more than changing what you believe. For some, it can mean rebuilding relationships, finding housing, creating a new support system, discovering who you are outside of the organization, and learning how to make choices for yourself again.That’s why we created The Great eXcape.Throughout October 2026, participants from anywhere can join our Virtual Great eXcape Challenge, moving at their own pace and in their own way. Then, on October 31, 2026, our community will come together at Arabia Mountain, Georgia, for the in-person Great eXcape 5K.You don’t have to be a runner. Walk it. Run it. Move at your pace. Every step can represent something different: reclaiming your voice, choosing yourself, honoring how far you’ve come, supporting someone rebuilding their life—or simply standing beside a community that believes everyone deserves the freedom to determine their own future.Proceeds from The Great eXcape help The Exodus Group continue providing practical assistance, community support, emergency housing resources, celebrations and meetups, educational programming, and other services for people rebuilding their lives after high-control experiences.The Great eXcape is not about running away from your past.
