Bede Vs. The Living Dead Episode 41 - Zombie Holocaust (1980) and Nightmare City (1980)
from Bede Vs. The Living Dead · host The BVTLD Network
Welcome to episode 41 of Bede Vs. The Living Dead. Two episodes back on the podcast, your host Bede Jermyn looked at two completely random and unreleated zombie films from the '70s that were re-titled as "Zombie 3" in some parts of the world to capitalized on Italy's successful Zombi franchise. However, there were plenty of other films that were *also* re-titled as entries in the series. For this episode, Bede takes a look at two other films that had their titles changed to Zombie 3 in other countries: Zombie Holocaust and Nightmare City. Both of which were released in 1980. Joining Bede to discuss this next two unofficial Zombie 3 "sequels" are returning guests Marcus Wilturner (writer/contributor for The Super Network) and John Seavey (Half Price Horror). Highlights include discussing how Zombie Holocaust doesn't work as whole, giving credit to the insame amount of gore in the film, why the zombie and cannibal sub-genres shouldn't mix, why Nightmare City is a-head-of-its-time for zombie films, being surprised how very intense it is, appreciating the film's twist ending and so much more.
