Bede Vs. The Living Dead Episode 7 - Night Of The Living Dead 3D (2006) and Night Of The Living Dead 3D: Re-Animation (2012)

Hey, everyone! Welcome to episode 7 of Bede Vs. The Living Dead. The podcast where your host Bede Jermyn explores the remakes, re-edits, reimaginings, homages, unofficial follow-ups and more to George A. Romero’s 1968 classic Night Of The Living Dead across all media. Apologies once again. As I stated at the end of the previous episode of the show, originally this one was going to be on the 2011 film Mimesis: Night Of The Living Dead but unfortunately due to some things that came up, my guest for that and I weren't able to record that episode. Don't worry, that episode will come in a future date. So I decided to switch things around and make the topic of this episode be on two films that were originally meant to be the main discussions on episode 6, but I had to switch around due to also scheduling conflicts. For episode 7 of the podcast, we'll be going into the third dimension by looking into the 2006 3D remake of Night Of The Living Dead (which will be the officially second remake of NOTLD for this show) and its prequel Night Of The Living Dead 3D: Re-Animation (2012).  Joining Bede in discussing these two 3D takes of NOTLD is first-time guest Lance Langford, one of the co-hosts of the podcast The Horror Returns. Highlights in this episode include Bede & Lance wondering whether the 3D was necessary for both films, appreciating the meta and subversive approach to the 2006 remake, debate whether the remake is decent schlocky fun, who gave the better performance as the new character of Gerard Tovar, Jr among the two films: Sid Haig or Andrew Divoff?, why is there a Sarah Palin lookalike in the Re-Animation? the gravitas that both stars Andrew Divoff & Jeffrey Combs bring to the prequel and so much more.
