Beef prices see “shocking decline”

The number of cattle in the United States is at a more than seventy-year low. The scarcity of domestic beef has been supplemented by imports from South America, and American dairy farmers sending their older milk cows to slaughter for some extra cash. But after years on the rise, the price of beef has dropped dramatically in recent weeks.
