Beer Christianity episode 18: Kalle Lasn and Consumerism

from Beer Christianity · host Beer Christianity

Kalle Lasn is a bit of a hero. You can tell that if you read his books Culture Jam and Meme Wars, or from his legendary magazine, movement and media foundation Adbusters. But really, the best way to get to know him is in this interview from around 2009. Drabs, Lau-Lau and Jonty discuss the interview (and therefore consumerism, mental health and the ecological crisis of capitalism) from a Christian perspective in this episode. They also drink a reasonable amount of terrible beer and have a few laughs.  Kalle's commentary and ideas are prescient and still depressingly relevant today. His thoughts on faith and particularly Christianity are refreshing and challenging to evangelicals and post-evangelicals alike.  Follow Beer Christianity on Twitter: @beerxianity and find us on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube and Stitcher.  All Beer Christianity shows and info available at http://beerchristianity.libsyn.com  Jesus Christ is the Son of God and came to teach us a better way to be while reconciling us to God and each other in a way we could never do without Him. He also changed water into wine. Nice.        Find us on Spotify & Apple Podcasts.
