Beer is a Conversation is our weekly sit down with some of the people who make the beer industry the interesting and dynamic industry it is and through these conversations we dig a little deeper into the stories behind the business of beer and brewing. And this week’s conversation is a deeper dive on steroids as we chat with Stone & Wood’s Jamie Cook. Jamie is no stranger to Radio Brews News, if just as the namesake for the Cook limit. But more importantly he has been a frequent guest through his roles as a founder of Stone & Wood, and of the Craft Beer Industry Association and now Chair of the Independent Brewers Association board. For all of those conversations, we haven’t talked much about Jamie himself. Last week Jamie turned sixty and this week he has issued a statement saying that many years ago he made a promise to himself that he would use that milestone to reset his priorities to give more time to himself, his family and adventure whilst winding back from a day to day working life. As such he has announced that he will be stepping back from his role as CEO of Fermentum - the overarching business behind Stone & Wood - retiring to the role of Chair of the Fermentum Board in December this year. Jamie has had a long history in the brewing industry, and his career has spanned some of the most interesting periods of Australian brewing...before he even co-founded Stone & Wood.
