Beetaloo Energy targets first gas sales as pilot production nears

from Proactive - Interviews for investors · host Proactive Investors

Beetaloo Energy Managing Director Alex Underwood joined Steve Darling from Proactive to discuss the company's progress toward first gas sales, which are expected in the fourth quarter of 2026 as it transitions into pilot production in Australia's Beetaloo Basin. Underwood said the company's gas processing plant remains on schedule and on budget, with construction completed without any safety or environmental incidents. Beetaloo has already drilled and hydraulically fractured three horizontal wells and has received regulatory approval to commence pilot gas production. The company also recently completed a seismic survey over its western basin acreage, acquired several years ago, which is estimated to contain approximately 20 trillion cubic feet (TCF) of recoverable gas. Interpretation of the new seismic data is now underway to help define future horizontal drilling locations across the property. Financially, Underwood said Beetaloo is in its strongest position to date, with approximately A$125 million in available liquidity, including cash and undrawn credit facilities. He added that the company has no near-term plans to raise additional equity. Beetaloo has also entered a funding agreement with Territory Sands to establish a local sand supply for future hydraulic fracturing operations, with deliveries expected to begin next year. Beyond upstream operations, Beetaloo is advancing plans to support data centre infrastructure near Darwin after being awarded strategic land by the Northern Territory government. The company has signed an MOU with Halliburton related to power generation equipment and is working with third parties on a pipeline to transport larger gas volumes to Darwin. Underwood emphasized that the data centre initiative complements Beetaloo's core gas business, with external partners expected to provide much of the capital and expertise for downstream infrastructure. #proactiveinvetors #beetalooenergy #asx #btl #energy #NaturalGas #Energy #Australia #BeetalooBasin #EnergyTransition #OilAndGas #Infrastructure #DataCentres #EnergyNews
