Before Striking Iran
from SOLILOQUIZING Hosted by Venerated Media
Before launching a military campaign against Iran, American policymakers must carefully weigh whether realistic strategic goals can actually be achieved. Although the United States holds vast conventional military dominance, Islamic Republic of Iran maintains formidable asymmetric strengths through its regional proxies and extensive missile stockpiles. Pursuing aggressive aims such as regime change or destabilization would likely demand a prolonged ground commitment and risk sparking catastrophic civil conflict. Furthermore, tactical strikes might temporarily set back nuclear facilities and missile inventories, but they cannot permanently erase Iran's indigenous scientific knowledge or resolve. Attempting to coerce Tehran into diplomatic compliance or executing a leadership decapitation strike could easily backfire by hardening Iranian resistance and triggering wider regional warfare. Ultimately, decision-makers must evaluate whether the severe escalation risks and unpredictable consequences truly align with broader national security priorities.
