Behind-the-scenes #19: Sweeney Todd and Mrs Lovett discuss the SALOS production

from Wyvern Theatre · host Wyvern Theatre

James and Alison Canning play Sweeney Todd and Mrs Lovett in SALOS' current production of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. SALOS, Swindon's Premier Musical Theatre Society, has played an important role within the town's Arts scene since it was formed in 1951. SALOS presents an annual musical at the Wyvern Theatre, as well as other concerts throughout the year. Stephen Sondheim’s legendary musical takes audiences to the seedy alleyways of London, where Sweeney Todd decides to exact justice and revenge on those who falsely imprisoned him. Years of many wrongdoings are set right with the help of loyal pie-shop owner Mrs Lovett, in this memorable and horrifyingly dark musical-comedy which runs at the Wyvern Theatre until Saturday 26 October.
